Kelsey is a Red Seal Chef and a graduate of the Professional Cooking Program at SAIT. She also holds a C.H.N. designation which she obtained through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Her passion lies in teaching people how to cook healthfully by utilizing whole food and focusing on their nutritional value.
Kelsey is a Chef Instructor at SAIT for the School of Hospitality and Tourism. She specializes in teaching ESL learners, Indigenous students, at risk youth, and people with physical and learning disabilities. Prior to her teaching career she spent 14 years in the industry. Her career has included working in large scale kitchens, catering, business management & operation, consulting, personal chef and nutrition counselling, travel abroad, and work in organic farming and agriculture.
She is also regularly featured on Global Television and CTV to discuss and demonstrate seasonal dishes and food trends. Kelsey is a member of the Women’s Chefs and Restauranteurs Organization and was recently awarded a scholarship to travel to New York to study indoor organic farming, an area she is always looking to improve her knowledge of.
Teaching with Poppy Innovations allows her to empower people with the skills to develop healthier eating habits, gain confidence in cooking skills, and most importantly having fun in the kitchen and learning something new!
